Call for Papers for EuroSLA 35, 2026

The 35th annual conference of the European Second Language Association (EuroSLA 35) will take place from June 24–27, 2026, in Lisbon, Portugal, hosted by the Research Center for Linguistics (CLUNL) at NOVA University Lisbon, one of Portugal’s leading institutions in the language sciences.

Keynote speakers:

• Melissa Baese-Berk (University of Chicago)

• Bram Bulté (Council of the European Union & Vrije Universiteit Brussel)

• Vincent DeLuca (UiT The Arctic University of Norway)

• Emma Marsden (University of York)

Presentations

We welcome submissions in all areas and approaches to the study of second, foreign, or additional languages, bilingualism and multilingualism in the following formats:

• Individual papers (20-minute presentation + 5-minute Q&A)

• Posters

• Doctoral workshop papers (15-minute presentation + 10-minute discussion)

Abstract Submission Information

The deadline for submissions is December 5, 2025. We particularly encourage the submission of poster proposals given that the number of paper slots is limited. Notification of acceptance will be communicated by the end of February 2026. Please note that you will have to create a Softconf account to be able to submit your abstract.

Language Policy

The working language of the conference is English. Presentations in other European languages are also welcome.
